The Skilled Teacher Academy (TSTA) is a 12-week robust and intensive virtual program for preservice and beginning in-service teachers with a focus in areas such as reorientation of the teaching profession, self awareness and identity, data and assessment literacy, classroom, and behavior management. The aim of the program is to provide our target audience with the necessary skills and competencies needed to equip and empower them for their classroom experience without struggling.

If you’re a student in the faculty of education and you’re looking to equip yourself with 21st century skills and get ready for your classroom experience as a teacher, this is for you.
This course will leave you knowing that you are prepared to teach because you will have gone through most of the core areas of teaching. You will also have access to mentors and opportunities to teach.
IN-SERVICE TEACHERS
As an in-service teacher, you will become more confident in your skills and have new ideas and methods of teaching your students.
You will also learn about you more so that you can give more value to yourself and those you come in contact with.
